BREAKING NEWS: Metro FM fires top DJ

Metro FM has pulled the plug on Paul Mtirara, one of its star attractions.
The smooth-talking Sunday midday host was shown the exit door on Friday. He is now taking the fight to the SABC, which owns the urban commercial radio station.
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed the dismissal.
"SABC can confirm that the employment contract of Mr Mtirara was terminated due to a serious contractual contravention on his part. The organisation will not want to comment further on this matter,"
It is reported that Mtirara was initially suspended for a week before he was fired, allegedly without a warning or a letter. Now the DJ is suing for breach of contract.
The bottom fell out for Mtirara when he returned from a business trip from the UK last month where he had been invited by Universal Music for three days to interview Babyface, the American R&B legend.
A source said Mtirara called his producer to tell the station manager, Sibongile Mtyali, that he has to leave. Mtirara is understood to have had a rocky relationship with Mtyali after an argument in a meeting at their offices.
Mtirara's lawyer Graham Moshoana confirmed that they were instituting a lawsuit
"My instructions are to sue. We believe the SABC has breached the contract. We are going to the High Court. Our first prize would be reinstatement or alternatively they would have to pay damages. He did not get a (verbal) warning or a letter, he got nothing."
