Kaizer Chiefs come clean on Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane
KAIZER Chiefs have finally responded to allegations that Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane might be on his way out at Naturena.
According to a statement released by the club yesterday, Yeye is merely in the process of rehabilitation before getting back to action.
The 33-year-old veteran midfielder is believed to be in talks with Amakhosi about a contract extension, as his is set to lapse at the end of this season in June.
“We are in negotiations with Yeye,” Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung said in a statement yesterday amid media speculation. “We will make announcements on player movements in due course.”
Rumour had it that Yeye had signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United to link up with former mentor Stuart Baxter.
Yeye started experiencing pain in his knee about a month ago as Chiefs were preparing for the Caf Champions League match against Volcan Club de Moroni in the Comoros.
He’s on his way back to full fitness, according to Chiefs’ medical team: “We are taking it step-by-step to ensure he recovers completely. The duration of this rehabilitation process differs from one player to the next. The injury and its extent also have an impact on the time that a player is out.
“It’s important that a player recovers fully before playing again in a competitive match.”
Mboro‘s heaven claims land him in hot water
PROPHET Mboro apparently ascended to heaven on Easter Sunday morning and even took selfies, social networks claimed.
But now the prophet could face fraud charges. The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities said they would lay charges of fraud against him if rumours that his church was selling the alleged selfies proved to be true. Social media sites were abuzz over the weekend after the heavenly allegations which further claimed that the pastor took the selfies with a Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone! A man known only as Mr Nkuna, claiming to be Mboro’s spokesman, reportedly said the pictures were on sale for R5 000 a pop.
“We encourage people to read the Bible for themselves, and not rely on others to interpret it for them!” said commission chairwoman Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva.
“We believe Mboro is just looking for ways to extort money from people. We know he never went to heaven. He is deceiving people,” said Mkhwanazi-Xaluva.
“We’re going to summon him to explain to us whether he said those things or if it’s a joke.”
Mboro said he planned to sue Mkhwanazi-Xaluva and the commission.
“I saw her talking on TV saying that I went to heaven. What they did is a lie. Their job is to protect me and any other religion. They’re anti-Mboro.”
Mboro also denied that he had a spokesman named Nkuna. “And I don’t even have that smartphone,” he said
