PLAYING dead saved my life

A WOMAN said she survived a horrific attack on Thursday by playing dead.
The 22-year-old from Siluma View in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni told us about two attackers who killed her two teenage sisters and a six-month-old baby!
The victims were put in a bath and had boiling water poured over them, while the woman was stabbed in the neck twice and on her right arm.
“I was also hit with a steel rod on the back of my head before they stabbed me,” she said.
The young woman said she first realised something was wrong when she arrived home and found that the front door was not locked.
“I noticed the TV was on but there was no one there. Suddenly I felt someone holding me from behind. I was then hit with the steel rod,” she said.
After she was stabbed and beaten with the rod, the woman heard one of the attackers asking why she wasn’t dead yet.
“That was when I started playing dead because I knew they wanted to kill me.
“I had to hold my breath and lie completely still until they left the house,” she said.
The motive for the killings is unknown but the police were investigating. Two suspects aged 18 and 23 were caught and beaten by community members on Thursday.
They were discharged from hospital yesterday. After the attack the MEC for community safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, visited the family to discuss the case.
She told the family that the suspects will be charged with murder
