Movie star and legendary actor Rapulana Seiphemo allegedly turned a Joburg drinking hole into a galactic war zone when he slapped a lawyer and baptised another patron with booze last Saturday.
Seiphemo, who plays the rich Tau Mogale in Generations: The Legacy, allegedly gave the star-struck Pfarelo Masindi a warm klap at the Newtown News Cafe after the legal eagle had asked to take a selfie with the actor.
It is alleged that the tearaway Thespian also splashed fire waters on another man who tried to intervene.
When reached for comment, Seiphemo curtly cut the news crew. He also failed to respond to questions sent to him vis SMS about the incident.
Masindi confirmed that Seiphemo allegedly moered him but said he did not open a case against him because one of the actor's friends apologised on his behalf.
"Rapulana and hi friends were seated around a table drinking. I went to him and greeted him. After that I told him that I'm his fan and asked to take a picture with him but he refused. I walked back to my table and sat down. To my shock, he later walked towards me and slapped me on my face without any provocation," said the advocate.
Masindi said bouncers arrived and threw Seiphemo and his friend out of the joint. He said he always liked Seiphemo for his craft and did not know that he was a "Jekyll and Hyde monster who just beat up people unprovoked."
"His friend apologised to me and I accepted his apology. But no apology came from him so I then decided to leave the place and go home," he added.
News Cafe general manager Fanyan Sibeko confirmed that Seiphemo quarrelled with some patrons but said he did not witness the actor assaulting anyone.
"I was busy cashing up in the office when the incident happend. Apparently the misunderstanding started when he (Masindi) spoke to people who were seated with him (Seiphemo). It was not because he wanted to take a picture with him. We had to call bouncers to chase him (Seiphemo) and his friends out because they were spilling alcohol on the tables," Sibeko said.
A witness who did not want to be named, supposedly fearing that he too would receive hot claps from the violent actor, alleged that Seiphemo gave Masindi a hot klap after he rejected his request to take a picture with him.
"Masindi went back and sat around the table after Rapulana refused to take a picture with him. Rapulana walked towards Masindi, took off his glassed and slapped him very hard. The guy who was seated next to Masindi stood up and told Rapulana to stop what he was doing but he splashed him with a glass of alcohol in his face. That was when the bouncers came and ordered everybody to leave," he said
