Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe says his government will keep pressing the South African authorities to go deeper with investigations to determine the cause of Zanele Moyo's death.
Zanele, daughter to Zimbabwe's Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Professor Jonathan Moyo, was found dead in her off campus apartment in Cape Town where she was pursuing studies in political science, international relations and gender studies at University of Cape Town.
Her body arrived in the neighbouring country this Wednesday afternoon and now awaits burial on Friday afternoon.
President Mugabe, who visited the Moyo home in Borrowdale, Harare's most affluent suburb, this evening, commended Zanele's parents for doing their best to ensure that their daughter would have a good life but that was not to be because God had his own plans.
He said it is disturbing from Professor Moyo's narration of how events unfolded in South Africa, that a post mortem result can take over 5 weeks and that the person who was last seen with Zanele decided to leave her dying alone, alleging that he had to travel to Zambia.
President Mugabe also said it is also disturbing that President Jacob Zuma's government did not take immediate action when the friend who last saw Zanele alive was spotted at OR Tambo International Airport on the domestic side on Tuesday night when he had said he was going to Zambia.
Professor Moyo had earlier briefed the President on what transpired on the trip regarding post mortem. Two Zambian nationals are expected to help police with the investigations.
