Jacob Zuma's presidential guard shot dead

A KwaZulu-Natal member of the Jacob Zuma's presidential guard was killed at the weekend, the Hawks said yesterday.
The police are searching for the killers of Sergeant Mzwakhe John Magwaza, who was stationed at the Presidential Protection Unit, at eNtumeni, in Eshowe.
The Hawks said Magwaza was asleep in his rondavel when the structure was set alight. Neighbours helped him escape the fire.
Magwaza emerged from the burning structure and told his rescuers that there were people who wanted him dead.
He was then shot at and tried to flee, but was wounded. His body was found underneath his car, where he had tried to hide.
Hawks chief Lieutenant-General Mthandazo Ntlemeza described the killing as an attack on the security of the state.
"The people responsible for his death must know that we are out to get them. We urge anyone with information about the killing or the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward," said Ntlemeza
